APPALOOSA BREEDERS - PLEASE NOTE
In recent months the AQHA Board have changed their rules in regard to AQHA Registration Papers for horses who display excess white. Horses who display white markings which is outside the standard guidelines (as defined in the AAA Ltd Rules) will no longer have their Registration Papers marked with "This horse has white markings designated under AQHA Rules and Regulations as undesirable and uncharacteristic of the breed."
Horses presented for new registration or horses who are supplied with new Registration Papers will no longer have any such notation on their Registration Papers to identify their excessive white. It is therefore imperitive that Appaloosa Breeders ensure the status of any horse, and that horses' direct parents, which they intend to use as an outcross in the breeding of Appaloosas.
The AAA Ltd Rules remain firm on the ineligibility of use of outcross horses of any breed displaying excess white and the onus of proof of eligibility for Registration is on the breeder of any horse.
Please ensure you are familiar with the AAA Ltd Rule by reading this information sheet.
